WORLD DANCE SHOWDOWN
DANCE COMPETITIONS

It's your time to shine!

Dance Competitions are for line dancers, couples, dance teams and choreographers and are held concurrently to the workshops.  Competition Line Dances have been announced--see below.  Couples dances are 2-Step, Waltz, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing and Country Swing.  Couples Competition Music will be announced in advance. Dancers may enter one or more of the dances.  No prior dance competition experience is required.   Dancers can enter multiple competition categories.  We encourage line dancers to compete in couples and couples to compete in line dancing and everyone to compete with a dance team in the dance team competition plus create an original choreography line or partner dance.

Choreography and Dance Team Competitors from the USA and Canada will compete on-site at the World Dance Showdown in all competition categories and send a step description to hellotanyacurry@gmail.com after registering.  Please do not include Copperknob and Line Dancer logos on your step descriptions.  Choreography and Dance Team Competitors from Mexico and South America and all off-shore countries will compete by sending a video recording and step description of their competition entry to us.  Choreographers:  Please read the competition rules carefully to determine what division you dance should be entered.  Dances are entered in divisions based on the dance steps in your dance.  After registering your dance, please go to the International page to get information about how to prepare and send your step sheets and dance videos. USA and Canadian Choreographers and Dance Teams will compete live on-site in Indianapolis at the event and do not need to provide a video

Choreographers are required to enter a dance name for each of your dances when you register for the choreography competition.  Please email the step sheets to hellotanyacurry@gmail.com immediately after you register.

Note to Dance Teams. The music selection for the Dance Team Choreography competition is "Good Time for a Good Time" by Josh Logan. This competition is not to be confused with the Original Choreography competition where you select the music and choreograph a dance to it.

All competitors:  Please refer to the competition rules for detailed information about each of the competitions.  All competitors, including team members, must purchase a weekend pass.
