To enter this competition, please click the GET TICKETS button on this website, prepare a step sheet and video of your dance.
Simply video your original choreography line or partner dance and dance team routines and send an mp4 recording to us. Dances will be judged and the top Beginner/Improver, Intermediate/Advanced and Phrased line dances will be taught at the live event by a local instructor or you may attend the live event yourself in the USA. Dance Teams and Choreographers will video their dance routine and send us the mp4 of the video via www.wetransfer.com. Please only send .mp4 not .mov videos.
Please video your routine in a quiet, well lit area and be sure that all dancers are shown in the video. Choreographers: please dance four repetitions of your dance to music then cut your dance video on the next beat or do a quick 3 second face.. If your dance is phrased or if there are tags and restarts, dance your dance until the last phrase change or until the last tag or restart is completed. If videos are longer than four repetitions or not cut after the last phrase change or tag, we will ask you to redo your video. Thank You. Please note that multiple tags and restarts will make your dance phrased and dances like this should be entered in the phrased dance I or II division. Please read the competition rules on the competition page of this website for a more detailed description of the choreography dance divisions. Dance your dance to the music you list on your step description. Do not cue or say the steps while dancing your dance. Do not teach your dance on the video. Please video the dance to ensure that your dance steps are clear and visible, not at a far distance that we cannot see the movements. Please be sure the music is loud and clear. Do not video your dance during a public demonstration or competition. There should be no background noise other than your music. Please record one dance per video if you are entering multiple dances. Stop the recording for each video and start a new video on a separate file for each dance. Please do not add an introduction or title page to your video. Please include other dancers in your video if possible but be sure that the choreographer is in the front and center and can be seen during the entire dance. Dance entries do not need to be professionally videotaped and can be recorded on your phone. A video and step sheet description for choreography entries is required. Please send your step sheet in word or pdf format without copperknob or linedancer company logos on the page. After you register your dance, please send your video in mp4 format to hellotanyacurry@gmail.com through www.wetransfer.com. Due to the size of your videos, we recommend you use www.wetransfer.com to send your video to our email. Please email your step description to wdsstepsheets@gmail.com. Thank You. Please send your step description and video immediately after registering. Your registration cannot be processed until we have your step description and video.
Dance Teams: Please follow the same instructions for recording your dance team performance. Dance your routine from beginning to end one time only. Choreographers/Team Captains do not need to be in the front and center of the routine.
Everyone: Smile and have fun. We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing your dances.
